We had the most amazing lunch, large portions . But the service was where they really stood out. Greeted immediately and seated, ordered and food arrived promptly. When we were done we were invited to stay and enjoy our time together. No rush, very pleasant afternoon!

LOVE Love love ~ Hop Sing's. From the moment you see the front door and enter into the cozy oriental decor greeted by your friendly hostess, you will feel right 'at home'. This is an 'institution' in our Old Town of Folsom on Sutter Street. Bill is there, serving generous portions of fabulous food. It is ALL shareable, even when you order for two (2), you have AMPLE amounts to take home. While other places overcharge for much less and not as great tasting food, Hop Sing's has not changed its wonderful food or unreasonably raised their pricing. I highly Recommend ALL their food !! From EGG ROLLS, TEMPURA FRIED GREEN BEANS, POTSTICKERS, WOR WON TON SOUP, PEPPERED CHICKEN, SWEET AND SOUR PORK, CHICKEN SALAD.... It is ALL wonderful. Come and CELEBRATE for lunch or dinner. We recently went for my husband's birthday with a big party of people. We did not have to wait for Anything. All our food was Abundant, hot & Delicious. Birthday 'boy' hubby even got Ice Cream with a candle! I don't have many photos of all our food & I apologize for that - we were too busy sharing it all and eating !!!

Charming and comfortable ambience with a fun energy that takes you back to the warm nostalgia of dining in the Chinese restaurants of your childhood. Decor doesn't look like it's changed since they opened in 1957, which is dope. The staff is incredibly friendly, hardworking and helpful, so any of these bad reviews you read were written by jerks that probably deserved what they perceived. Also - this is Folsom (let alone, Sutter Street, soooo it's touristy Folsom), hence these same bad reviews complaining this isn't authentic Chinese food are hella funny to me lol. Here at Hop Sing, you will enjoy delicious, classic, old-school Americanized Chinese food at good value prices. Happy Lunar New Year!

We went to Hop Sing Palace for my wife's birthday. There were 8 of us at the table. The place looks really authentic and the staff all very helpful. I ordered the kung pow chicken and my wife ordered the War Wonton soup. My meal was enough for two people! As was the soup my wife ordered. It was delicious and spice (my meal). The wine was in a smaller glass but filled to the top! My kind of place. I will eat here again when in town. Old Folsom is a quaint town and parking all around the restaurant.

What a delightful experience at Hop Sing during a cold rainy night. We walked in as a small group and got the deluxe service from Bill! We hadn't been there in many years and it was so nice to be greeted by a familiar face and given such amazing service just like we remembered. And the food was soooo delicious. We had the family meal for $17 a person and it was wonderful that we could each choose our own soup type. The plates of food were huge and we each had enough to take home for another meal. We got the soup, fried prawns, chicken chowmein, sweet and sour and pork fried rice. All the dishes were incredible except the sweet and sour which needed to be fried longer for my taste. We can't wait to go back and experience again what is Hop Sing! Nothing else like it anywhere in the area!

We heard so much good things about this place and decided to try it on Saturday afternoon. We were seated immediately on the booth. Since we were hungry, we chose $34 for 2 menu which includes 5 dishes & 1 appetizers. Each portion was very generous and we had lots of leftovers. - Egg flower soup: a bit bland for our taste - Wonton soup: the broth was kinda plain. But the wontons were very good! They were flavorful and had slight sweetness in the filling. - Deep fried prawns: very good and not oily. The prawns were big & perfectly cooked. The coating was just the perfect amount. The hot mustard and ketchup were the perfect dip for this dish - Sweet & sour pork: delicious. My kid's favorite! However, the sweet and sour sauce was more sweet and no sourness. The pork pieces were tender & juicy. - Fried rice: good regular fried rice but a bit plain - Cashew chicken: good. The veggies tasted fresh. The chicken pieces were tender. They were generous on the cashew as well. - HK style fried noodle with chicken: we upgraded the chow mien to deep fried noodle. The dish was good. There were lots of chicken pieces and the celery pieces were fresh.

Atmosphere: clean, comfortable, old school Chinese restaurant The food: delicious and tasted very fresh, portion sizes are large! The service: excellent - we were greeted immediately and the waiter brought us hot tea and a pitcher of ice water. Our waitress was extremely attentive and our food came quickly. She checked on us often but not annoyingly so. Pro tip: you can park in the large parking garage nearby, parking is hard to come by in Folsom. They serve beer and wine, the choices were decent!
